It is the place for moving away from the noise of the world which distracts us from the emptiness we have inside because we are not yet what we were made to be.

That is an excellent way to explain it. This is one of my main gripes with LifeTeen - importing the noise of the world to mask our emptiness, when what we really need is to recognize that emptiness and allow God to come fill it. Your post is worth far more than two cents.

Since I enjoy both types of music, but understand the purpose of the Mass thanks to my experiende attending the Traditonal Mass, I listen to praise music at home, or while driving.
It has it's role, but it's NOT at Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
