Thank you for linking to the other commentary. It provides me w/more proof to bring to my Pastor that there is a lack of adult discernment going on in the school …. last year during the Scholastic book fair, Pullman’s books were being sold. I questioned the wisdom of this and to say the least my question & concern was not taken well. The books got pulled … but I was made to feel like a weird one. And, of course the “Left Behind” series also found a place on the library shelf too & recommended to my daughter to read …. which I also questioned the wisdom of this for a Catholic school ….
Well, Ms Kidman … gee thanks for advancing the kindgom …

While each case is different, many times a parish pastor can be assaulted with unreasonable concerns. I think often times this makes them less likely to be receptive of authentic concerns. Sometimes I find that showing them some specific problems with an acknowledgment that they probably get a lot of unwarranted complaints, can make them more receptive.
Unfortunately others do not appreciated the danger of scandal.
Thanks for your vigilance.
