It goes back to the sort of metaphysics of the unity of body and soul, in my mind. Is it the human soul that makes a human body, human? Is there something different about a human body, than a purely "animal" body. Are they (the bishops) right to presume the embryo is human? If so, is it possible that God would give a human soul to a body that was not exlusively produced by human parents? Yeah, I have no idea how to work with this.
