I have curtailed my blogging for the simple reason that I am too busy.

I did a little experiment for 15 days in June, where I resolved to drop whatever I was doing on the computer if my wife and children wanted me to do something with them. The tasks ranged from helping with chores, to listening to them, to disciplining them. For that 15 day period I blogged four times.

In short, I realize that I have to spend more time living and less time blogging. With 12 children - 5 of them teenagers - I am beginning to realize that my time with them is running out.

On the other hand, your blog is one of the few that I look at regularly - partly because it is not blocked by my work.

God bless

Apollyon - no actually, the blog to which you refer is a rather misguided and quite presumptuous blog. "Catholicism Revealed" implies that you know a little about what the Catholic Church teaches beyond centuries old caricatures. The questions you are asking have been well answered. You should take the time to go find out how Catholics respond to them and then address those issues rather than dragging out the tired old canards that have been adequately addressed millions of times over.

With respect to Sola Scriptura...one might ask where in the Bible is this doctrine taught? Of course the answer is that it is not. Sola Scriptura is a tradition of men that negates the Commandments of God (cf. Matt 15:3).

It must be disheartening when there are over one billion Catholics in the world (and then cut that in half for English speaking maybe) and then only a decimal of a decimal of a decimal of 1 percent of Catholics are reading the blog work. At times it must feel like playing chess with someone who never makes a move and so one moves the pieces for him.

I was disappointed to hear that Homemaking Through the Church Year is going on indefinite hiatus:
http://churchyear.blogspot.com/

It seems like a common theme among blogs that go on hiatus is simply a time issue -- the authors still enjoy it, but just don't have time to devote to it. I was actually just going to do a post asking other bloggers how they find time to blog. I know it's a challenge for a lot of us.

Well, Brian Killian's old blog, which seems to now be altogether unpublished, was Noetic Muse (if anyone rememember it).

There is just one post published on what was Noetic Muse: http://www.bkillian.com/blog/ . He sometimes has some stuff published on Catholic Exchange, but it's too sporadic. He should be blogging again.

Having been a blog reader for over five years I can think of plenty of good blogs that have retired. Many times retired bloggers do come back, but certainly not always. Feddie of Southern Appeal is of course not running Catholicsagainstrudy.com.

Some of my favorite defunct Catholic blogs, besides the ones you mention would be.

Fr. Sibley's "A Saintly Salmagundi"

Michelle of "And then"

Swimming the Tiber - Though the blogger a former atheist is now a monk.

The great parody blog "Catholicnews.org"

Rick Lugari's De Civiate Dei and his awesome papal parody blog Musum Pontificalis.
