Fr. Matthew Fox Attacks the Pope & Church in Television Interview
Fr. Matthew Fox, who now considers himself Episcopalian, was formally dismissed from the Dominican order in 1993 for his refusal to cease his heretical teachings. His theology included deemphasizing original sin, endorsing homosexual unions, identifying humans as “mothers of God,” and calling God “our Mother.” He publicly called the Catholic Church a dysfunctional family and accused It of, “power, not theology, being the real issue” in his defrocking. Some are now accusing him of using the Episcopal Church as an attempt to maintain credibility and authority, without the accountability.
Here’s a short clip of an interview which will air next Wednesday on VisionTV Canada. I find it interesting that he identified the time as the Church being pre-occupied with sex and obsessing over sexual morality was only during the last 25 years. Why would he possibly have issue with Popes JPII and Benedict XVI?

I’m going to ask the pardon for my foul language, but that guy seems like a total douche.
The fact that he wastes his energy being angry about the Pope’s fashion choices as opposed to turning any amount of mental powers towards truth pretty much says it all. Who has time to be that petty?

Wow. I knew he was a heretic, but – “the Church [in its present form] has to die”? And he counters a superfluous preference of PBXVI with liberation theology?!? The Franciscans who pastor my parish practically worship this guy – and the sad thing is, he has no idea how irrelevant and out of touch he is.
And yeah, I’d say that a preoccupation with sex is a sign of dysfunction – Fr. Fox’s (and the “pelvic left’s”) dysfunction, that is.

He puts an insane face on what some people thought were legitimate concerns. Comes across ODD!, and represents popular thoughts — a win for us.

I’m not sure if my comment on the Youtube site will get approved, so here is what I said (at least as best as I can remember):
“I am a young Catholic. Because Western Society is so obsessed with Sex, the Church MUST comment on it. It is obligated to do so for the Catholics who want to be the best Catholics they can be. Even if I was the only person wanting this, the church would be obligated to tell me. The thing is I’m not the only one. There are many catholics, even young Catholics, who love the Church’s teaching. Its time for this guy to wake up and smell the Orthodoxy.”

Vision TV Moving toward More Openly Anti-Catholic Bias
By Hilary White
TORONTO, January 9, 2006 LifeSiteNews.com) – Vision TV, the Toronto-based broadcaster that bills itself as “Canada’s multi-faith and multicultural broadcaster,†is positioning itself as a leader in anti-Catholic media punditry. The broadcaster’s most recent round comes in the form of a programme on NDP MP Charlie Angus’ very public conflict with Catholic teaching ….”
I will add that if one has time, just visit VisionTV’s programs for the past year ….
Interesting enough M.Fox gave this little spill last yr at a Catholic church in a near by town too … a church that supports much of the new age thinking that abounds.

Actually Fox was not expelled from the Order for being heretical (otherwise Schillebeecx would be out too!), in fact Fox was expelled for not being obedient and moving back to his province (Central Province, based in Chicago). Fox had been for many years in Oakland and its environs, and thus was in another province of the Order perhaps without permission, when he was recalled to his province he did not obey, perhaps he was given a formal precept which is the highest command one can receive in the Order, and for which you can be penalised, though the penalty is not specific in the constitutions and could thus be many things, one perhaps being expulsion from the Order.
However he is a bit on the nose theologically isn’t he!
