Athiest Fails in Attempt to Deny Military Veterans Right to Choose Spiritual Care as Part of Therapy
The Freedom From Religion Foundation president was on the losing end of a lawsuit as she hoped to deny veterans their right to voluntarily have spirituality & religion included as a component of their therapy. U.S. District Judge John Shabaz dismissed the lawsuit and defended The Department of Veterans Affairs’ practices when saying religion and spirituality can help patients heal and is legal when done on a voluntary basis. The VA acknowledged its belief that spirituality should be integrated into care but said it allows patients to decide whether that involves religion.
“The choice to receive spiritual or pastoral care, the choice to complete a spiritual assessment, and the choice to participate in a religious or spiritually based treatment program always remain the private choice of the veteran,” he wrote. “Accordingly, there is no evidence of governmental indoctrination of religion.”
Atheist and Freedom From Religion Foundation president, Annie Laurie Gaylor, plans on appealing the decision.

Apparently, Annie Laurie (isn’t there an old folk song by that name?) Gaylor and her minions of Antheists In The Service Of Litigation, are still emotionally tied to their sophomore class in high school. One hopes that with time and patience, they will eventually grow up and find honest work.
