“Paris Hilton is too Moral to play Mother Theresa”

“Bay Area radio talk show host John London was fired over the weekend by KIFR-FM (106.9) after offering a reward on the air to have talk host Penn Jillette killed. London said his offer was an “obviously sarcastic” response to a show that Jillette did attacking Mother Teresa and calling her a fraud.”
“On Wednesday, London spent two hours complaining about Jillette’s show calling Mother Teresa a fraud. Thursday, at the beginning of his show, he offered “$5,000 to the person that kills Penn Jillette. If he suffers, I’ll make it $7,000,”.
“Jillette did a bit on his show claiming that Mother Teresa had set up refuges for dying people for her own “sexual kink” and “sexual kicks.” He also claimed Paris Hilton was morally superior to the sainted nun. ‘Paris Hilton is much too moral” to play Mother Teresa in a movie, said Jillette, whose syndicated show preceded London’s Wednesday. “Mother Teresa was a really bad person.”
“London said he was told that Jillette had received death threats as a result of the broadcast, but the local host added that such threats would be expected after what the comedian said about the venerable Catholic. London and Cruz said the station’s managers had a “dump button” and could have stopped the program if they thought they were broadcasting something offensive or illegal.”
What would Mohammad do?

So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!

Patrick – I don’t get it. Is this more projection?

David, Wikipedia can be useful for obscure cultural references. The entry on Scientology is very illuminating.
In this case I was referring to Scientology’s tendency to try and quash anything seen as even remotely critical of it. In this case, Tom Cruise apparently pressured Viacom to remove an episode of South Park that made fun of Scientology, (and Tom Cruise) from appearing in re-runs.
The quote I made in my first post was the response from the creators of South Park. (which will make a lot more sense after you read up on Scientology from wikipedia-get ready for some chuckles).
Tom Cruise’s actions are I think similar to the reactions over the Mohammad cartoons. He didn’t really engage and call them stupid or challenge them on accuracy as such, he simply tried to erase knowledge of their existence.
The question is: how should Catholics react to these idiotic criticism of Mother Theresa? Try to ban them? Or just demonstrate how stupid these claims are?
One of the things that I think makes Christianity superior to Islam is that generally it takes the path of reason. Or in other words, it allows itself to be questioned. Islam does not. Christianity for the most part, tends to spread through self-initiated conversion, Islam spreads usually by enforcement. Which has been more successful? (note, I’m speaking about both religions in very general terms).
