Heinous Confusion

Filed under: Dissent — shelray @ 12:20 am

The Curt Jester did an excellent satire on A New Rite of Exorcism and alluded to a line in Saint Faustina’s diary, where she wrote, “Satan can even clothe himself in a cloak of humility, but he does not know how to wear the cloak of obedience” (Diary, par. 939). I have never heard this and it kind of blew me away. That the Devil would concede his evil nature and imitate good, all for the bigger prize of a successful ruining of a soul, but pride being the root of all evil, makes the submission to authority too large a burden, even for him to bear.  There seems to be monumental surge in rebellion against the Church from every direction imaginable. Why are there so many who claim to be Catholic, but they deceive and create the illusion that sets up Jesus against His own Church?

Love, tolerence, caring, inclusion, peace, social justice, charity, etc…., all beautiful words  uttered by proponents of homosexuality, same sex marriage, abortion and contraception , but when was the last time the word that was so central in the teachings of Christ was mentioned?  The very nature of the pseudo-catholic organizations are rebellious against authority of His church. To love Jesus is to love the Church. Though the individuals may be well meaning and compassionate people, the dreadful effects of pride and disobedience leads the the heinousness of their spiritual confusion and darkness (see photo.)

  1. Your hitting the point, but from the extreme wrong side! Not loving the Church is the issue, but loving God by means of loving thy neighbour. And that requires responsible behavior, also in sexual affairs. That is why so many, Catholic as they may feel and be, are deeply convinced that using condoms is the best possible way of practising this utter responsibility. It is indeed very sad that Rome has not yet long ago acknowledged this and upgraded its teachings. Hence it has lost much influence where it could have had much more meaningful contributions to mankind, hence to the glory of God.

You are so right, love and responsibility are inextricably linked. That is why sexual intercourse which has as its end the one-flesh union and procreation, can never be sanctioned outside of marriage. I assume the commentor is Catholic, thus it must be directed to some occassion within marriage which would be only the most rare of cases? In any case, condoms disrupt procreation and subsequently deform for the one-flesh marital union. Misplaced sentimentality is no excuse for leading others into errors that can damage people, and it is no replacement for the truth.

That is why so many, Catholic as they may feel and be, are deeply convinced that using condoms is the best possible way of practising this utter responsibility.

Being Catholic is not a matter of feelings, it is a matter of faith. Faith begins with trust, it is aided by reason and is supernaturally infused when one is receptive to and trusting in God and what He has revealed. Being Catholic in faith means accepting Jesus’ revealed Truth as taught by His Church’s Magisterium; anything else is pure protestantism.

It is indeed very sad that Rome has not yet long ago acknowledged this and upgraded its teachings. Hence it has lost much influence where it could have had much more meaningful contributions to mankind, hence to the glory of God.

Truth is not a commerical commodity which has the capacity to be “upgraded.” The mere idea that it might be is, in fact, retrograde. The mission of the Church is to spread the gospel–the FULL gospel. Deforming the truth so as to be more socially acceptable and hence provide “much more meaningful contributions to mankind” is not Her mission.

I recommend this commentor read through the Gospels again. The Church is a sign of contradiction to the “wisdom” of the world. Succumbing to the culture of death as a “teaching upgrade” is anything but counter-cultural.
