Confused Politicians

Filed under: Culture, Dissent — David @ 8:31 pm

San Antonio Archbishop Gomez provides some excellent advice for pastors and politicians to help clear up the confusion that so many have over how their faith lives intersect with their public lives. The truth is often the more difficult road to take. As Jesus warns, the road that leads to destructionis is the wide one.

  1. David, don’t you find that the Bishops are the ones who are even more confused than the politicians?
I blogged about this on the weekend.

  2. Eric,

I read your post, a good one it is. I agree with you that all too many bishops completely misunderstand their awesome responsibilities as a spiritual father and shepherd of souls. Thankfully we have those like Archbishop Gomez who do not. Your comment from St. Robert Bellarmine reminds me that we must very fervently pray for our bishops and priests. It also reminds me why the best bishops are those who are terrified of their awesome responsibilities.
