hierothee,
maybe I should actually proof read my posts before submitting them. I tried being cute by using sarcasm, and, after re-reading my post, my post didn't make alot of sense.
Thanks.

Here is a related entry ...

Did God actually created man from scratch?

According to Intelligent Design Guru: If we are indeed created by God from scratch, then we are actually a very lousy design … a FLAWED creation, so to speak!

If you have any comment, please email it me at divinetalk@gmail.com or just leave it at http://divinetalk.blogspot.com/

Sorry, XYZ, I have you confused for somebody else. Though, your comment was confusing. It seems that you're not giving your own view, but the view of the many who think that slave-holders and rights deniers cannot possibly have had anything good about them.

I had to go back to a previous post of yours to get your take on things. I thought you were being sarcastic.

XYZ's apparent thesis is a classic three-part syllogism: 1) Pre-modern humanity kept slaves and denied women "rights". 2) Anybody who would do such a thing was too stupid and evil to be taken seriously on any level. 3) Therefore, pre-modern sexual mores have been rightly abolished and mocked by the culture-at-large.

Objections?

Anon, I agree with your take. Today, so many of us learn our moral values from the writers of t.v. shows and movies. So many consider anything traditional, including values which were developed by the same people who advocated slavery, denying women rights, etc..., are somehow invalid.

"Fake it until you make it!" In the name of equality, womens' true need of a meaningful relationship is hidden in order to submit to the pressure of today's pop culture, that is, to be more like men. Today's "enlightened" culture demands this of them. At the risk of being seen as different, they pretend to view sex in the same way men instinctively do. There is a movie that really went "way out there" in the realm of possibilities where the star character is a 40 year old virgin. Most teens (that submit to today's standards) would consider being a virgin a 4 letter word.
